ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-II, Jodhpur organized a two-day State Level Annual Work plan Workshop for KVKs of Rajasthan (10 -11 January 2023) and was inaugurated here today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Arun Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, SKRAU, Bikaner, urged to prepare need-based, affordable, and situation-specific technologies for the farming community in a holistic manner. He also briefed various technological packages developed by SKRAU, Bikaner for benefit of farmers.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. B.R. Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor, Agricultural University, Jodhpur briefed about various priorities to be incorporated in work plan of 2023 so that farmers can easily accept and adopt prevailing farming situations. He also briefed various programs & activities to be carried out during “International Year of Millets 2023”.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, zone-II, Jodhpur briefed various Government of India initiatives including National Farming, Kisan Agriculture Drones, Precision Farming, Farmer Producer Organizations etc. for benefit of the farming community. He also highlighted various technological packages related to Crops, Vegetables, Fruits, Livestock, etc. applicable for different Agro-ecological zones of Rajasthan.
Shri Puskar Srivastav, General Manager, BSNL, Jodhpur , the “Chief Guest” in valedictory session on 11th January, 2023 also briefed about role and importance of Information Communication Technologies in Agriculture Sector for improving productivity in a very systematic manner.
Literature developed by KVKs was released on this occasion. Director(s) of Extension Education of Six Agricultural Universities including veterinary university participated in this workshop.
Heads of KVKs of Rajasthan actively participated and presented work plans for the year 2023.
