ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering & Technology, Kolkata conducted a Student Awareness Programme at Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management (CIEM), Kolkata, as an Awareness-cum-Sensitization Programme in alignment with ICAR's year-long student campaign today.
Dr. Sanjib Shil, Professor & Principal; Dr. Pushpitaranjan Bhattacharya, Director, CIEM and Shri. Gautam Banerjee, Secretary, CIEM, Tollygunge, introduced the NINFET officials to their students and faculties.
Dr. Bhattacharya, mentioned that collaboration of Engineering Colleges, Universities and ICAR Institutes may pave a better approach for developing advanced technologies required by the nation. He emphasised the facilities of the college and requested signing a MoU with ICAR-NINFET for better collaboration.
Dr. D.P.Ray, Head C & BP Division, & In-Charge HRD Cell envisaged the significance of the student awareness programme and sensitized the students about the ICAR activities in nation-building. He urged to come forward young engineers to render their service in the development of the agricultural and textile sectors.
Dr. Sanjoy Debnath, Head, Mechanical Processing Division, said about "Geo-Jute in Engineering & Agricultural Applications". He streamlines students about the activities of ICAR-NINFET in the application of Geo-Jute in Engineering and Agricultural Applications.
Around 50 students along with their esteemed faculty members attended the Awareness-cum-Sensitization-Programme.
The programme was organized in alignment with the celebration of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
