TARANG - Celebrating Collectivization

ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute in Goa participated in the TARANG – Celebrating Collectivization Mela event, organized by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with Small Farmers' Agribusiness Consortium and Open Network for Digital Commerce at Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji, today.

The Chief Guest, Shri. Arun Kumar Mishra, IAS, Secretary, Agriculture, Govt. of Goa, highlighted the importance of collectivization, especially for small farmers in turning agriculture into a commercially viable business activity.

Guest of Honour, Shri Sanjay Patil, Padma Shri 2024 Awardee, spoke about natural farming and measures to reduce the cost of cultivation.

Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa highlighted the importance and scope of Farmer Producer Organisations in tapping the pan-India market for unique products such as Goan cashews.

Dr. Milind Bhirud, General Manager & Officer-In-charge, NABARD, Goa, emphasized the importance of such events in providing marketing and mutual learning avenues and uplifting the sales of FPOs with the help of the ONDC network.

Dr. Suresh Kunkalikar, Principal, Goa College of Agriculture spoke about the potential for Goan agriculture.

FPOs from various states attended the event and showcased their products through stalls.
