ICAR- Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, organised a training-cum-demonstration programme on sustainable backyard poultry production at Lilwyn Eco Agri Farm, Carona village, Bardez taluka, Goa under a NABARD-funded project.
Adv. Carlos Ferreira, MLA, Aldona, Goa, emphasised the importance of integrated farming with different kinds of poultry and poultry entrepreneurship programme for farmers and youth of Goa. He also interacted with the farmers about their expectations from the training and encouraged them to acquire skills in different fields.
A practical demonstration was conducted on chick brooding, cleaning, disinfection, litter material selection, and adult growth. The programme also covered vaccinations, bio-security measures, deworming, disease prevention, and health management of backyard poultry.
An interactive session with the poultry farmers was organised during the event.
The training program was attended by a total of 21 poultry farmers including seven women participants from Bardez Taluka, Goa.
