ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dimapur organised a 3-day on-campus training-cum-capacity-building programme on the integrated farming system: enhancing productivity and sustainability for tribal farmers of Dimapur district under the Tribal Sub Plan Project from 5th - 7th March, 2025.
The programme commenced with an inaugural session, graced by Dr H. Kalita, Head, Regional Centre, ICAR Nagaland Centre, as special guest.
Over the span of three days, participants gained valuable insights through technical lectures, hands-on practical sessions, and field visits led by experts from ICAR-KVK Dimapur and ICAR Nagaland Centre. The sessions primarily covered various aspects of Integrated Farming Systems (IFS), including livestock, horticulture, seed production, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, processing, and their economic benefits.
The valedictory session was presided over by Shri Bodevi Shuya, District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Chumukedima, as the chief guest.
During the concluding session, certificates were distributed to all 25 participant farmers and resource persons in recognition of their successful completion of the training.
Inputs like watering cans and Assam lemon saplings were distributed to all the participant farmers to encourage practical implementation of the knowledge gained during the training.
