The ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi organized the Training Programme on “Data Analysis and Interpretation for the 43rd Batch of 29 Indian Statistical Service (I.S.S.) Probationars” from 6th to 16th June, 2022.


The programme was organized in association with the National Statistical Systems Training Academy, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Central Statistics Office, Government of India.
The Chief Guest, Prof. V.K. Gupta, Former ICAR National Professor delivered the inaugural address.
In his valedictory address, the Chief Guest, Dr. G.P. Samanta, Secretary & Chief Statistician of India, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India highlighted the importance of Statistics. The origins of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its off-shoots like machine learning which later combined with statistics can give the best of both worlds were underlined by him.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. R.C. Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR & National Director, National Agricultural Higher Education Project applauded the ICAR-IASRI’s initiatives to impart the training and stressed on soft skills, Yoga and meditation to be a part of such training programmes for leading a stress-free life both in the professional and personal fronts.
Earlier, Dr. Rajender Parsad, Director, ICAR-IASRI, New Delhi outlined the genesis, growth and achievements of the Institute. The various e-Governance initiatives taken-up by the ICAR-IASRI to cater to the needs of National Agricultural Research and Education System were also highlighted by Der. Parsad.
