Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) along with Dr. V. Venkatasubramanian, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-XI, Bengaluru visited ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dharwad today.
Dr. Himanshu Pathak, in his address expressed that, KVK is a miniature of all the technologies related to agriculture and allied sectors and complemented the KVK for doing good work. He suggested the Scientists disseminate new technologies to reach the farmers for the upliftment of the farming community. During the visit DG, ICAR also interacted with Shri Ramanna Nandanawadi, a progressive farmer and Shri Veeresh Dharwad, an young progressive farmer.

Dr. V. Ventakasubramanian expressed his gratitude to the Director General for visiting KVK, Dharwad and explained about major activities carried out by all the KVKs of Zone-XI.
Dr. A. S. Vastrad, Director of Extension, UAS, Dharwad Dr. M.S. Biradar, Senior Scientist and Head, ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dharwad welcomed the dignitaries.
Dr. A. S. Vastrad highlighted the major achievements of six KVKs of UAS, Dharwad. He planted an auspicious/holy plant at KVK farm along with all the staff of KVK, visited museum, soil and water testing laboratory and interacted with scientists and farmers. Visited various units and exhibitions including turmeric grinding machine, poultry hatchery unit, onion de-topping machine, honeybee hives, major agriculture and horticultural crops, processed millet products and other innovative technologies.
Dr. S. A. Gaddanakeri, Associate Director of Extension, UAS, Dharwad and Dr. Shripad H. Kulkarni, Nodal Officer (KVKs), UAS, Dharwad accompanied the dignitaries.
