The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha under ICAR-NASF project organized a one-day Training-cum-Workshop on “Improved Package of Practices of Vegetable Crops and Farm Mechanization” in Sankilo Village, Nischintakoili Block, Cuttack District, Odisha today.
In her welcome address, Dr. Lipi Das Principal Scientist (Agricultural Extension), ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar, Odisha & Principal Investigator of the Project outlined the main objective of the project that aims to empower the farm women based on “SHEET” Module, that is, Social, Health and Nutrition, Environment, Economic and Technological aspects. She stressed on 3E's Concept for women, that is, Equity, Entrepreneurship and Empowerment.
The Block Veterinary Officers, Livestock Inspectors, Block Technical Managers, SMS Horticulture Department, KVK, Cuttack, Odisha also discussed the various aspects for livelihood security of farm women.
Around 70 participants including scientists of ICAR-CIWA, farm women, farmers and representatives from NGOs participated in the workshop.
