Workshop on official language rules and Hindi e-tools organised

A workshop-cum-training programme on official language rules and Hindi e-tools was organized by the City Official Language Implementation Committee, Dehradun (Office-2) at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation today. The event aimed to sensitize officers and employees under NRAKAS (Office-2) and IISWC about the official language rules and provide information on Hindi e-tools for conducting official work in Hindi.

The Chief Guest, Shri Chandan Sushil Sajan, General Manager, ONGC, and Secretary of the City Official Language Implementation Committee, lauded the efforts of Shri Ashutosh Kumar Tiwari in promoting Hindi and congratulated IISWC for organizing various Hindi competitions.

Shri Ashutosh Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Director, Official Language, ICAR-IISWC, highlighted the institute’s achievements and ongoing activities in his inaugural address. 

The first session focused on the Official Language Act, 1963, covering various aspects like official correspondence, parliamentary committee guidelines, and training materials. Participants engaged in a quiz session, and their queries were addressed in detail.

The second session provided valuable information on Hindi e-tools, including Hindi fonts, translation tools, and speech-to-text software. The afternoon session was dedicated to practical training in the computer lab, where participants practiced using these tools.

The workshop was attended by 85 participants, including Hindi officers, scientists, and staff from various organizations.
