Agriculture Innovation Exposure Visit was organized at ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur, for farmers on the principle of “See-Examine-Adopt” in which more than 1500 farmers visited the 400 acres demonstration and experimental fields of the Institute. Farmers were showcased the latest innovations devised the Institute.
The innovations included new field and horticulture crops and their varieties, different agroforestry systems, pasture development techniques, water harvesting and recycling, integrated farming system, organic farming, alternative feeds for livestock etc. The main attraction was Integrated Farming Cafeteria production technologies were showcased in an integrated manner. This also included the demonstration of all the millets.
Dr. O.P. Yadav, Director, ICAR-CAZRI interacted with the farmers and exhorted them to weigh the technologies from their own perspective and to provide their feedback. He added that adoption of new innovations has a great relevance for conserving natural resources and simultaneously enhancing the farmers’ incomes.
