AquaEpi III Conference concluded with Key Epidemiological Decisions

The AquaEpi III, an international conference on aquatic animal epidemiology, organised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and the International Society of Aquatic Animal Epidemiology, in collaboration with NFDB & ABCS, concluded at ICAR National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow.

The Chief Guest, Dr. P.K. Sahoo, emphasised the importance of understanding fish disease processes and their epidemiology.

Dr. U.K Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR was the co-convenor of the event. He stressed the need for robust databases for managing fish diseases.

Dr. Neeraj Sood was elected as President of ISAAE during the conference, which featured 9 technical and several poster sessions focused on various epidemiological aspects. The next AquaEpi IV is scheduled for 2026 in Chile.

The event, lauded for its contributions to epidemiological research, was attended by notable guests including Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Dr. Flavio Corsin, Dr. Fernando O Mardones, Dr. Saraya Tavornpanich, and Dr. Chris Hauton, highlighted the significance of the conference's recommendations for fish farmers.

The event saw participation from around 210 delegates, including 25 international experts from 10 countries.
