Farmer-Scientist Interaction Meeting’ organised by RAAS-KVK

The Farmer-Scientist Interaction Meeting’ was organised by RAAS-KVK in its campus located at Vanasthali, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh today.

Dr. S.K. Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (NRM), ICAR, was the ‘Chief of the meeting. He inaugurated the Urban Gardening Unit under Shade Net.

Dr. P.K.Singh, Agriculture Commissioner, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India; Dr. R.R.Burman, Assistant Director General (Ag. Extn.), ICAR; Dr. P.S.Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar; Dr. Shaik.N.Meera, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-X, Hyderabad; Dr. S.Venkataratnam, General Secretary, RASS were also present during the event. They also visited various demonstration units and instructional farms at RASS-KVK.

Dr.S.Sreenivasulu, Sr. Scientist & Head, RASS-KVK, welcomed all to the interaction meeting and briefed the House about the activities of RASS-KVK, Chittoor.

The Officials launched the Kisan Credit Card Scheme, Agricultural Drones, Soil Health Management, Nutrient Deficiencies and their Management in crops and Management practices in flower cultivation. Further, the officials have also launched the mobile application on “Arogya Sanjeevani” developed by RASS-KVK, and ‘QR’ codes pertain to KVK demonstration units.

More than 150 farmers from different areas of Tirupathi and Chittoor Districts participated in the event.
