A Farmers Scientist Interaction-cum-Exhibition on “Climate Resilient Agriculture Technologies & Natural Farming” and input distribution to the Scheduled caste farmers under the SCSP scheme was organised at ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Buxar today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. S. K. Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (NRM), emphasized climate-resilient agricultural technologies like zero tillage, straw management, water saving through mulching and sprinkler irrigation and crop rotation with the inclusion of pulses in the cropping system. He accentuated on the adoption of short-duration crop varieties, and balanced application of fertilizers to improve soil fertility and its sustainability through capacity building of farmers in climate-changing scenarios. Dr. Chaudhari inaugurated a new Implement shed at KVK, Buxar, under the CRA Programme, and visited various agri-exhibition stalls showcasing farmers and stakeholders.
Dr. Chaudhari also visited Kukurah village with over 100 farmers to discuss NICRA project activities, Dr Anup Das, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna and other officials also visited the village adopted by the NICRA Project, to observe ongoing activities and demonstrations for marginal and underprivileged women farmers.
Earlier, Dr. Das applauded the work done by KVK, Buxar for the benefit of farmers. He emphasized the use of chemical spray through drone technology and per drop more crop cultivation.
Dr. Deo Karan, Sr. Scientist and Head, KVK, Buxar, briefed about the training capacity building and outreach activities being undertaken by the KVK.
