Hands-on training course on "Artificial Insemination in Goats

11th - 15th September 2023, Makhdoom

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, has successfully completed the hands-on training course on ‘Artificial Insemination in Goats’ from September 11th to 15th, 2023. The training module imparted the desired knowledge and skills to the field veterinarians with regard to AI in goats and the overall development of livestock owners.

The course objective was to impart the latest knowledge and hands-on training on artificial insemination in goats for the improvement of the local breeds and the enhancement of productivity for sustainable development. The course objectives were achieved through a combination of presentations, practical exercises, and group discussions.

The training course was inaugurated by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Vice President, VCI, India.

Dr. Praveen Malik, CEO, Agrinnovate, ICAR, New Delhi, was the chief guest in the valedictory program of the course. Dr. Malik explained artificial insemination in goats improves productivity and also helps in breed improvement.

The course Director Dr. Manish K. Chatli Director, ICAR-CIRG, Makhdoom, states that this training module is for all veterinarians and para-veterinarians of different state animal husbandry departments in India, and phase-wise, all states will be covered in due course.

A total of 20 participants from the Veterinary Officers Training Institute, Bhubaneshwar, Animal Husbandry Department, Odisha, participated in this training program.
