Kisan Sammelan under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme organized
The ICAR-Central Institute for Arid Horticulture, Bikaner, Rajasthan organized the Kisan Sammelan on “PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme” today.
The Chief Guest, Shri Moda Ram Meghwal, Zila Pramukh, Bikaner, Rajasthan apprised the farmers about the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and its benefits. He urged the farmers for adopting the improved arid horticultural technologies developed by the ICAR-Central Institute for Arid Horticulture, Bikaner, Rajasthan to increase area, production and over all benefits to farmers of the hot-arid regions of the country.
The Special Guest, Dr. P.S. Shekhawat, Director (Research), SKRAU, Bikaner, Rajasthan apprised the farmers and participants about the various improved agricultural technologies. He urged the farmers to adopt agri-horti farming system including livestock production for certainty and generation of more income in hostile agro-climatic conditions of the hot-arid regions.
The Chairman of the function, Prof. (Dr.) P.L. Saroj, Director, ICAR-CIAH, Bikaner, Rajasthan emphasized that the Central Government has launched various schemes for the farmers’ support and benefits. He urged farmers for harnessing and utilizing the opportunities to improve their farming system and income generation.
Dr. Uday Bhan, Joint Director, Bikaner, Rajasthan outlined the Central and State Government’s various farmers' welfare schemes for supporting and developing the agri-horti production systems, especially, in hot-arid regions of the country.
The event registered a total participation by more than 300 farmers, civil society officials, politicians, scientists and students.
