Millet Farmers’ Group of Rajasthan visits ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad

A group of 18 Progressive Farmers from Barmer and Jalore Districts of Rajasthan visited the ICAR-Indian Institutes of Millets Research, Hyderabad today.

Dr. Vilas A. Tonapi, Director, ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad outlined about the Bajra seeds, value-added technology licensing and strengthening of FPOs for income and nutritional security.

The farmers were made aware about the value-added technologies developed in Millets namely - Bajra Flakes, Bajra Cookies, Bajra Puffs and Bajra Extruded Products like Vermicelli and Pasta, etc., on the occasion.

The main objective of the interaction session was to apprise the farmers about the Institute’s Model Millets Value-Chain.
