Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying visited the ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics, Bengaluru, Karnataka today.
The Minister was accompanied by Dr. Praveen Malik, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India and Dr. Praveen Kumar, Additional Private Secretary to Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
During his interaction with the scientists, the Minister took a detailed note of the status of diseases under the control programme and need for any midterm corrections / modifications. He also emphasized the science and scientists’ role in uplifting the farming community.
Shri Prabhu B. Chauhan, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Government of Karnataka was also present during the occasion.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. B.R. Shome, Director, ICAR-NIVEDI briefed about the ongoing research programmes and Institute’s contribution towards the National Animal Disease Control Programmes (FMD, Brucellosis, PPR and CSF).
The dignitaries also planted the saplings during the occasion.
