The ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized a three-day Virtual “Orientation Workshop and Training Programme for new ABI units” from 17th to 19th August, 2020.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) accentuated the need of the ABIs and technology transfer to the farmers as the top national agenda. The Director General urged the ABIs at the different ICAR Institutes to serve the Agri-Business Incubation services to the respective regions of the country.
Shri Bimbadhar Pradhan, Special Secretary, DARE & Financial Advisor (ICAR) highlighted the importance of the Incubation Ecosystem for boosting the Indian economy in general and farm economy in particular.
Shri Sanjay Singh, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR) shared the experiences of the other Ministries and Departments in the development of Start-Up ecosystem.
Dr. Sanjeev Saxena, ADG (IP&TM), ICAR briefed about the need of the programme for all the new ABIs.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad outlined the main objective of the training.
The DDGs shared their experiences of the ABIs of their respective divisions and suggested the way forward covering the domain requirements in the technology innovations.
A total of 58 participants representing Principal Investigators and Co-PIs of the ABIs virtually participated in the workshop.
