Training on “Fish processing and Value addition for tribal woman”


dcfri08032016ICAR- Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research (DCFR), Bhimtal and ICAR- Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Cochin jointly organized training programme on “Value Addition of Fresh Water Fish through Processing” during 2-3 March 2016 under TSP at Deharadun. The objective of the training was to demonstrate the protocol for post harvest handling and preparation of value added products from fish in order to create awareness for livelihood support among tribal woman through initiating small scale entrepreneurship.  

Shri N.S. Napalchyal former Chief Secretary, Govt. of Uttarakhand and ST commission, Govt. of Uttarakhand  in his inaugural address emphasized on collaboration with state Government for intensifying efforts under Tribal Sub Plan. He urged for forming self help group for income generation through small scale entrepreneurship.

Earlier, Dr. A. K. Singh, Director, DCFR welcomed the dignitaries and briefed about the traning programme.

About 73 tribal women belonging to Bhotia and Boksha community participated in the programme..
