Passing out function of 123rd batch of 4 - month training on “Certificate Course on Soil & Water Conservation & Watershed Management” was organized at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Dehradun today. The four month programme was organized from 22nd April, 2022 to 21st August, 2022 at the Institute Hqrs., Dehradun.


The training programs addresses the issues related to natural resource (soil, water and vegetation) management that mitigate the impact of climate change and helps to ensure livelihood, nutritional and environmental security in the country.


Dr Subash Singh, Director Soil Conservation, Jharkhand, the Chief Guest of the event, highlighted the importance and enormity of the problem of soil and water conservation and urged the trainees to be the real ambassadors of the Institute.
Dr M. Madhu, Director, ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun urged that the trainees must understand the need of the people and ensure better sucess in the management of watershed.
Dr D V Singh, Head Division of HRD&SS said the module of the training programme consisted of 47 % practical and 53% theory.
A total of 27 Officers representing six states and two Scientists from ICAR-IISWC participated in the programme.
