First Laboratory Assessor’s Training Course Concluded at ICAR-NAARM

23rd December 2022, Hyderabad

The Laboratory Assessor’s Training Course for ICAR Scientists, organized in collaboration with NBL, New Delhi concluded at ICAR National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad today. The NABL team under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer organised a 5-day training programme from 19-23 December 2022 at NAARM, which is the first in a series of 5 such programmes.

The ICAR has initiated Laboratory Assessor’s Training Course for its scientists mainly to develop a house pool of assessors such that it facilitates accreditation of ICAR laboratories with international standards i.e. ISO/IEC 17025:2017.        

Dr. Ch Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, in his Presidential address highlighted the need for accreditation for improving the quality of services to stakeholders.

Dr. S. B. Barbuddhe, Director, NRC on Meat, Hyderabad, the Guest of Honour, highlighted the very important concerns with quality and urged the scientists to be aware of these issues and challenges.

Shri. N. Venkateswaran, Chief Executive Officer of NABL briefed about the importance of accreditation in the light of global scenarios.

The programme witnessed the participation of 24 scientists from 11 ICAR Institutions and one from ICAR Head Quarters.
