Field Day-cum-Training Programme for Saligas tribe

To popularize the importance of soil test based balanced fertilizer application with “Soil Test with Crop Response” approach for wheat crop among the tribal farmers, a capacity building cum field day was organized on June 16, 2015 under Tribal Sub Plan of AICRP- Soil Test with Crop Response. The programme was organized in collaboration with AICRP on Long Term Fertilizer Experiments at Purani Pod, BR Hills (Chamarajanagara district).

The farmers were trained on different aspects of soil testing and balance fertilization for crop production and maintenance of soil health. Ninety eight soil health cards as well as seeds and fertilizer materials were also distributed to the tribal farmers.

Saligas tribe from Purani Pod and Kalyani Pod villages of BR Hills, Chamarajanagara district participated in the event.
