ICAR-CSWRI concluded 15 days training for certified livestock advisor, Module-II, MANAGE programme for 23 Veterinary Professionals participated from 9 states

Under the Certified livestock advisor program of MODULE- II initiated by MANAGE, Hyderabad, ICAR- Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar, conducted a 15 days training on “A comprehensive training on sheep and goat production systems and health management” for CLA candidates from 08th February to 22nd February 2023. The training was attended by 23 Veterinary professionals from 9 different states of India such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Himanchal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Arunachal Pradesh. This training was executed to rejuvenate a skill and knowledge of the trainees with advance technologies available in the field of sheep and goat production systems, including Breeding, Feeding, Wool, Meat, Milk and Health management to increase the productivity of sheep and goats and hence to increase the lively hood of poor farmers.

In the inaugural session on 8th Feb 2023, the acting Director Dr. F. A. Khan welcomed all the participants in the training with his motivational speech. During the sessions of the training Director of the Institute DR. A. K. Tomar encouraged the participants to attend the training with devotion and emphasised on importance of small ruminant production in uplifting of the poor farmers, alleviation of poverty and the valuable contribution of small ruminant production in national economy.

On the event of valedictory session Dr. R. S. Bhatt (Acting Director) distributed the certificates and congratulated all the participants for the successful completion of the training. The coordinator Dr. G. G. Sonawane (Pri. Scientist) briefed that production, health, nutrition, meat and wool technologies including development of triple cross breed Aviashan developed by Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar were taught during the fifteen days training program by concern scientist of the institute. Feedback of training was applauded by all the participants with thanks to the ICAR-CSWRI and MANAGE, Hyderabad, they expressed that they have gained innovative practical experience which was never got in lifetime and appreciated the hospitality and institute working style to achieve the goal. As per the protocol of MANAGE, CLA programme with completion of their Module-II all the participants will enter in Module-III and will conduct field trials under guidance of Mentor scientist from ICAR-CSWRI to obtain final CLA certification.

The training was successfully organised by Dr. G. G. Sonawane (Co-ordinator), Dr. S. S. Dangi (Co-cordinator) and Dr. D. K. Sharma (Co-cordinator) under the guidance and support of Director, CSWRI-Avikanagar Dr. A. K. Tomar (Course Director).
