Technology demonstration and quality fish seed distribution to farmers under at 3rd Krishi Samriddhi Mela cum National Seminar on Integrated Farming System at Rama Krishna Mission Ashram (RKMA), Sargachhi

ICAR-NBFGR, Lucknow in collaboration with Dhanyaganga KVK, Sargachhi, distributed fish seed to SC farmers under SCSP in presence of Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR), New Delhi during the 3rd Krishi Samriddhi Mela (12-16 Jan 2023) at RKMA Sargachhi, Murshidabad, West Bengal on January 14, 2023.

A total of 50 thousand fingerlings of five fish species including Rohu, Catla , Mrigal (Indian major carps), Bata Labeo bata and Singhi  Heteropneustes fossilis were distributed to 25 farmers for technology demonstration and enhancement.

Dr. Uttam Kumar Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR motivated the fish farmers for conservation based aquaculture and stressed on promoting livelihood improvement through technology adaptation. Dr. Aditya Kumar and Dr. Raghvendra Singh, Scientist, NBFGR, Lucknow also briefed the farmers about quality fish seed production for aquaculture management practices through fish farming.
