Zonal Review Meeting of Farmer FIRST Programme was organized by ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur here today. The major objective of the meeting was to review the progress of the ongoing programme mainly on various approaches, processes, methodology and indicators, physical and financial progress, and also to discuss the operationalization mechanism of the implementation under the Farmer FIRST Programme to achieve the goal and objectives of the project
Dr VP Chahal, Assistant Director General (Agricultural Extension) emphasised the involvement of Research Institutes of ICAR and SAUs selected under the Farmer FIRST programme as part of the KVK Scheme. He stressed farm families selected under this programme should be encouraged to get involved as active partners in research mode i.e technologies selection, assessment and application for improving livelihood security by implementing participants /approaches in a sustainable way.
Dr PP Rohilla, Nodal Officer, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur briefed about the major achievements during 2022 under FFP. He urged for the implementation of demand-driven, local-specific situations and need-based technological modules in participatory mode.
A total of 35 PIs and Co-PIs of FFP from Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan states participated in this Zonal Review Meeting and presented progress for the review period.
