Experts and Stakeholders - Clean Plant Programme on Pomegranate at ICAR-NRCP, Solapur

A team of international and national experts on Clean Plant Programme (CPP) from Asian Development Bank, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and the National Horticulture Board visited the laboratory and farm-field facilities of ICAR-NRC on Pomegranate, Solapur today.

On this occasion, a Stakeholder’s Meet was organized to facilitate interaction between the team of experts on CPP and stakeholders of the pomegranate propagation industry.

The main objective of the meet was to incorporate critical inputs and suggestions while formulating a policy framework on a clean plant programme for fruit crops in India.

The expert committee along with the stakeholders from reputed private tissue culture laboratories, registered nurseries and progressive farmers visited the laboratory facilities of ICAR-NRCP including tissue culture, biotechnology and plant pathology laboratories.

The committee also visited the propagation units and polyhouse facilities of ICAR-NRCP before visiting the location to be assigned for establishing the Clean Plant Centre at ICAR-NRCP.
