Zonal Work Plan Workshop on Natural Farming

The Zonal Work Plan Workshop of Natural Farming project entitled “Out Scaling of Natural Farming through KVKs” (1 -2 February 2023) for the KVKs of ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-II, Jodhpur was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. YSPUH&F, Solan virtually today.

Dr. Chandel exhorted that natural farming is the most pertinent way to sustain quality production for a healthy populace and more importantly ecology and sustainability. He said natural farming has opened new vistas in the field of agricultural research and development. Dr. Chandel also briefed about various aspects and technologies as well as possibilities/prospects of natural farming in the country.

Dr. S.K.Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-II, Jodhpur gave an overview of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry,  and in particular of natural farming in the country and stressed on finalization of an effective action plan and Implements thereof.

Dr. Tarun Kant, Group Coordinator Research, ICFRE-AFRI, Jodhpur, stressed upon the inclusion of various agroforestry-based models for a better and practical way of natural farming.

Dr. Pradeep Pagaria, Associate Director Extension, Agriculture University, Jodhpur, briefed about natural farming and the importance thereof in sustaining the agriculture ecosystem.

Dr. Hari OM, State Training Organizer, Natural farming center, Gurukul, Kurukshetra spoke on various technical aspects of natural farming.

A total of 38 KVKs Officials/Nodal officers participated in the workshop and presented action plans for the year 2023-24.
