Meeting of the National Committee on Crop Diversification

31^st October 2022, Bhubaneswar

A meeting of the National Committee was organized jointly by ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA), ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management (IIWM) and Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare (DA&FW) at ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneswar today to discuss needs and ways of crop diversification.

 The meeting was chaired by Shri Sanjay Agrawal, Former Secretary, DA&FW and Chairman of the National Committee.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management),   Ms. Shubha Thakur, Joint Secretary (Crops) &Member Secretary of the Committee along with other members of the Committee participated in the meeting.

The Committee discussed at length on various issues related to diversification including the need for regionally differentiated options and strategies for diversification.

Dr V K Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Dr R K Panda, Director, ICAR-IIWM, Dr A S Panwar, Director, ICAR-IIFSR and Dr P S Birthal, Director, ICAR-NIAP made presentations on various technical aspects of planning diversification.
