MoU signed for rejuvenation of declined citrus orchard of West Bengal hill region

For the rejuvenation of declined citrus orchards in Darjeeling and Kalimpong region as well as possibilities of a new production hub/area expansion of citrus in Dooars, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata and ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute, Nagpur today.

Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, Nagpur and Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.

According to this MoU, the Subject Matter Specialist of various KVKs working in the region under the control of ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata will participate in technical deliberations/ brainstorming sessions/hands-on training in the areas of cooperation.

The MoU also targets to establish a modern citrus nursery in the region for the supply of quality planting materials.

This Focused partnership between ICAR-CCRI, Nagpur, and ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata will benefit the citrus grower of the region.
