The new administrative building of ICAR- Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baramulla was inaugurated today.

The Chief Guest Dr. Udham Singh Gautam, DDG (Agriculture Extension), ICAR, New Delhi, urged the farmers to participate in training programmes being organised by KVK on different scientific agricultural practices for higher profitable agriculture.

Chowdhary Mohd. Iqbal, Director Agriculture, Kashmir, discussed the various schemes of J&K Govt. for agricultural and entrepreneurship development.

Dr. M.K Verma, Director, ICAR- CITH, Srinagar, spoke about horticultural technologies developed by CITH for increasing farmer income.

Dr. Parvender Sheoran, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhina, emphasised on the importance of crop diversification and adoption of non-traditional higher value crops to enhance income.

A Kisan Sammelan was organised with 150 farmers, farm women and rural youth from different parts of the district.
