ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun, organised a training programme on fisheries technologies and opportunities in Uttarakhand, sponsored by the Directorate of Uttarakhand State Fisheries Department.
Dr. M Madhu, Director, ICAR-IISWC, urged the farmer trainees to take part in the training activities and interact with the resource persons productively to get maximum benefit out of the training program.
Dr. M Muruganandam, Principal Scientist and Head (PME &KM) Unit presented the details of the course content and training engagements planned during the event.
Dr. Charan Singh, Head, HRD & SS Division spoke on the role and association of forests with water resources for farming and food production in the hills.
The programme is being organized under the provision of the Tribal Sub-Plan scheme.
A total of 50 farmer trainees from different districts of Uttarakhand, participated in the training program.
