ICAR-NRCE Organises a 5-day training programme on One Health Approach for Surveillance and Diagnosis of Priority Zoonotic Diseases

12th to 16th February 2024, Hisar

ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar, commenced a 5-day training program titled One Health Approach for Surveillance and Diagnosis of Priority Zoonotic Diseases from 12th-16th February 2024. This initiative aims to enhance collaboration among medical doctors, veterinary doctors, and forest officers to effectively combat zoonotic diseases. This training is conducted under the National One Health Programme for Prevention and Control of Zoonoses funded by the National Centre for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi.

The Chief Guest, Smt. Geeta Bharati, IAS, Commissioner, Hisar Division, acknowledged the participants for their proactive efforts in addressing zoonotic diseases at their root cause.

Dr. TK Bhattacharya, Director, ICAR- ICAR-NRC on Equines, emphasised the role of ICAR-NRCE in advancing research and addressing challenges in the field of zoonotic diseases. He highlighted its importance in strengthening preparedness and response mechanisms.

A total of 33 participants from Haryana and Punjab have enrolled in this training program, with 19 individuals representing Punjab and 14 from Haryana.
