ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal organised a 5-day training on Recirculating Aquaculture Systems for Intensive Farming of Fish from 11th -15th March 2024.

Training on Recirculating Aquaculture Systems for Intensive Farming of Fish

ICAR-DCFR has been developing RAS technology for five years, focusing on efficient and sustainable fish production. Successful facilities have been established in high-altitude regions like Ladakh, and training is designed to enable scientific implementation and emphasize its national importance.

The training program educated participants on various aspects of RAS, and techno-commercial feasibility. Practical demonstrations were provided followed by certificate distribution to the participants.

A total of 19 participants including fisheries officials from Himachal Pradesh, fish farmers, entrepreneurs, research scholars, and students from different states attended the programme.
