Awareness-cum-Capacity Building Programme on Natural Farming

An Awareness-cum-Capacity Building programme on natural farming was organised at Rathindra-KVK, Birbhum today in hybrid mode under the flagship project entitled, “Out scaling of Natural Farming through Krishi Vigyan Kendras” to the grassroots of the farming community in Birbhum district.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata, said that the districts of Birbhum, Purulia and Bankura have greater potential to scale out of natural Farming. Dr. Dey suggested creating a sound database related to soil health including microbial activity for sustainable acceptance of Natural farming.

Dr. Subrata Mandal, Head, ICAR-KVK, Birbhum emphasised that the KVK will continue natural farming for the benefit of farmers and farm women and will create a database related to natural farming.

A total of 50 candidates participated in the programme.
