Dr Nikita Gopal Receives Asian Fisheries Society Merit Award

Dr Nikita Gopal, Head, EIS Division, ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, has been honored with the prestigious Asian Fisheries Society Merit Award. The award recognizes her significant contributions as Chair of the Gender in Aquaculture and Fisheries Section.

Prof. Liping Liu, President, Asian Fisheries Society, presented the award during a ceremony held in connection with the 14th AFAF in New Delhi on February 14, 2025.  

Dr Gopal's work has been instrumental in advancing gender inclusivity in the fisheries sector, further strengthening research and policy discussions in the field.
