ICAR-CCRI Extends Business Incubation Services to North-East Foodpreneurs under CitriHub

ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute (ICAR-CCRI), Nagpur, launched an agribusiness incubation training programme under CitriHub – Agribusiness Incubation Centre to support and mentor three emerging foodpreneurs from Manipur. The three incubatees, Smt Hanjabam Ranita Devi, Ms. Catherine Soyamphi AS, and Mr. James Khongbantabam, are receiving hands-on training and technological guidance in citrus-based food processing, value addition, and product development. Experts are equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance the commercial viability of citrus-based products. Beyond technological expertise, the incubatees will benefit from personalized business mentoring and tailored guidance over the next six months, ensuring they can effectively scale and sustain their ventures.

 

Dr Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, emphasized that this initiative is part of the broader Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ICAR-CCRI and the Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur, aimed at fostering citripreneurship in the state. He highlighted that such programs reinforce ICAR-CCRI’s commitment to empowering North-East India’s agribusiness sector and promoting sustainable entrepreneurship in citrus processing. Dr Ghosh urged aspiring citripreneurs and startups across India to leverage the agribusiness incubation services offered under CitriHub, emphasizing its role as a catalyst for innovation and growth in the citrus domain.
