Training on Scientific Pig and Poultry Production

ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre in collaboration with KVK Dimapur  organized a four-day training  on “Scientific Pig and Poultry Production: Avenues for entrepreneurship development in North Eastern Hill Region” (15- 18th November 2016) for tribal farmers of Karbi Anglong of Assam and Wokha, Kohima and Dimapur district of Nagaland at ICAR Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani.

Ms Sarah Jamir, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Medziphema, Govt. of Nagaland, Chief Guest of the function, , appreciated the efforts of ICAR Nagaland Centre for promoting the artificial insemination and improved poultry production technology in the state of Nagaland particularly and in North East generally. She stressed upon adoption of scientific pig rearing to achieve the self-sufficiency in pork production.

The chief guest also distributed the one week old Vanaraja chicks to the participants.

A total of 25 tribal farmers were participated in the training programme.
