ICAR-NINFET organizes a 3-day national training programme

ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering Technology, Kolkata organized a 3-day National Training on “Development of Building Materials from Agricultural Biomass” under the Consortium Research Platform on Natural Fibres from February 19-21, 2025.

The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr) Surya Kanta, FIT, Kolkata, highlighted the various applications of natural fibres and composites in the civil & structural industry.

Dr S. Debnath (Director officiating), ICAR-NINFET, lauded the progress of the projects and highlighted different researchable areas related to building materials. He also urged the team to achieve the milestones inscribed in the project. 

Dr D. P. Ray, PS & Head, CBP Division and PI of the project briefed about the institute, and objectives of the training programme and highlighted the project achievements.

The training included lectures from external and in-house experts on several aspects of the utilization of agricultural biomass in building materials along with practical demonstration. On this occasion, a training manual was released by the dignitaries. 

Scientists, Technical officials, RA/SRF from ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana and ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal attended the programme.
