ICAR-Directorate of Cold Water Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, Nainital, Bhimtal organized 8-day model training course, “Hill fish farming for the upliftment of rural economy in NE region” at Aizawl, Mizoram during 2-9 December, 2016
Dr. B. D. Chakma, Minister of Fisheries, Govt. of Mizoram, in his inaugural address emphasized on promotion and propagation of eco-tourism by establishing fish sanctuaries.
Shri Thlamuana, Secretary, Department of Fisheries, Govt. of Mizoram, urged upon to enrich the knowledge of the recent development of fisheries through this training.
Dr. A. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-DCFR, Bhimtal briefed about the activities and achievements of ICAR-DCFR.
A field trip to study the diversity of Koladan river of Mizoram was also conducted.
Twenty fisheries officers from 5 NEH states participated in the training programme.
