Shri Priya Ranjan visits ICAR-NRCG, Pune

Shri Priya Ranjan, MD, NHB and Joint Secretary (Horticulture), visited ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune to overview the preparations of the Clean Plant Centre (CPC), under the Clean Plant Programme of Govt of India. 

He visited the tissue culture laboratory, where he observed the progress in developing the tissue culture protocol for rootstocks. He was also informed about the ongoing research on the protocol for producing clean scion material. During his visit, he was briefed on the importance of continuing hazard analysis activities to ensure the proper implementation of all protocols.

Dr Kaushik Banerjee, Director, ICAR-NRCG accompanied Shri Ranjan during his visit to ICAR-NRCG.

Shri Ranjan visited the glasshouse where he learnt about the virus-free Dogridge rootstocks as well as the maintenance of hardened material from tissue. The experts briefed on the facilities that can be developed around CPC in future. 

Shri Priya Ranjan lauded the preparatory work of ICAR-NRCG regarding the implementation of the programme.
