Division of Agronomy, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, in collaboration with ATMA, Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, organized a five-day farmer training programme on "Precision Farming: Resource Efficiency and Environmental Sustainability" from 21st to 25th February 2025. The training aimed to equip 43 farmers from Narmadapuram district, Madhya Pradesh, with modern and sustainable agricultural practices that enhance productivity while conserving natural resources.
In his inaugural address, Dr S.S. Rathore, HoD, Division of Agronomy, ICAR-IARI, emphasized the significance of precision farming in ensuring resource-use efficiency and climate resilience.
The training covered various technical sessions, including an introduction to precision farming, nutrient management strategies, sub-surface drip fertigation, remote sensing applications, and integrated weed management.
Farmers also participated in field visits to Pusa Krishi Mela, PFDC, IFS, and drone technology laboratories to gain hands-on experience with innovative agricultural tools and techniques.
