Indian Council of Agricultural Research institutes across the country marked the 11th International Yoga Day with enthusiastic participation.
Originating in India, yoga is an ancient practice that integrates physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The Sanskrit word yoga means "to unite," symbolizing the harmony of body and consciousness. Today, it is embraced globally for its holistic benefits.
The theme for this year, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasizes the deep connection between personal well-being and planetary health. Yoga not only enhances physical strength and mental clarity but also nurtures mindfulness, encouraging individuals to adopt healthier and more sustainable lifestyles.
By promoting this balance, yoga reflects the Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam "the world is one family" underscoring our shared responsibility to care for ourselves and the Earth.
ICAR institutes nationwide observed the day with collective yoga sessions, awareness activities, and reflections on integrating wellness into everyday life.
