Dr. M.L. Jat, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR), inaugurated the Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva training program for DARE/ICAR officials, aimed at aligning human resource development with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
In his address, Dr. Jat emphasized that ‘Karmayogi’ is not just a term, but a philosophy rooted in deep values and purposeful action. He highlighted key traits of a Karmayogi technology-driven, transparent, innovative, empathetic, and proactive and urged for cultivating a culture of professionalism, positivity, and purpose within the organization. He also stressed the importance of creating a joyful, connected work environment and encouraged regular impact assessments of training outcomes with the help of social scientists.
He further stated that every employee should serve as a brand ambassador of ICAR, contributing to its mission with empathy and mutual respect across all levels of the organization.
Dr. J.K. Jena, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education & Fisheries Science), underscored that an employee’s work reflects the ethos of ICAR. He urged participants to go beyond routine tasks and strive for excellence, guided by empathy, mentorship, and self-awareness. He also highlighted the relevance of iGOT modules on well-being, stress management, and work-life balance.
Dr. A.K. Nayak, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management), emphasized that true Karmayogis serve with dedication, balance, and a sense of equality. He spoke about the mindset transformation required to translate training into impactful action and the importance of practicing Seva Bhav in daily work life.
Dr. Shanti Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director General (HRM) and Nodal Officer for Mission Karmayogi, briefed about the program's objectives and ICAR’s journey in implementing competency-based training. He noted that over 9,200 employees have been onboarded on the iGOT platform, and since 2023–24, ICAR has introduced a new milestone in learning and development under the Mission Karmayogi initiative.
The training is being delivered in four modules through the Pedgog App, with each session lasting 90 minutes. Four Master Trainers Sh. Kumar Rajesh, Sh. Jayanta Das, Sh. Ajay Gautam, and Sh. Rajesh Kumar Jha trained by the Capacity Building Commission, led the sessions, covering the vision of Mission Karmayogi, behavioral transformation, personal growth, and the role of public service in nation-building.
The training witnessed participation from ADGs, scientists, administrative, technical, and multi-tasking staff.
