ICAR-IARI Pusa Krishi Taksay Wins National Intellectual Property Award 2025 for Best Incubator

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa Krishi-Pusa Taksay, the innovation and incubation hub of the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, has been honoured with the National Intellectual Property Award 2025 for “Best Incubator for Nurturing IP.” The award was presented today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, by Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry.

The prestigious recognition acknowledges the significant contribution of Pusa Taksay in promoting innovation, protecting intellectual property, and supporting the development of agri-based startups and technologies emerging from India’s agricultural research ecosystem.

The National Intellectual Property Awards, organized by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), celebrate outstanding achievements in the field of intellectual property creation, commercialization, and management across the country.

Receiving the award, Dr Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI, expressed pride in the institute’s continued commitment to nurturing innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs working to transform Indian agriculture through science, technology, and intellectual property.

This recognition highlights the institute’s role as a leading agricultural incubator that enables startups and innovators to translate research into impactful technologies for farmers and the agri-industry. Through mentoring, incubation support, IP facilitation, and industry partnerships, Pusa Taksay continues to foster a vibrant ecosystem for agricultural innovation.

The award marks another milestone in strengthening India’s agricultural innovation landscape and reinforces the importance of protecting and commercializing intellectual property generated from research.
