Training-cum-Awareness Programme on Crop diversification and Quality Fruit Production in Cold Arid Region of Ladakh

Training on crop diversification and quality fruit production was organized by ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar under NMSHE-TF-6 project in collaboration with Regional Research Station, ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Leh for the framers of Nimoo and Ranbir Thiksey villages of Leh on 14th and 15th July 2017 respectively.

A total of 30 farmers participated in the training programme. Practical field training was imparted to demonstrate the methods of canopy management and propagation techniques such as budding/ grafting/ chipping in temperate fruit crops. Information on product diversification and novel product preparation of temperate fruits being grown in Leh region was also delivered.  Seed kits of exotic vegetables and berries were also distributed during the function.
