Enterprise development programme organised

The Agri Business Incubation unit at ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad organised a one-day Enterprise Development Programme on 16-11-2017.

Dr A.Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Director, ICAR-IIOR in his inaugural address highlighted on the role of the entrepreneurs in taking forward the potentially viable technologies through the process of incubation. He emphasised that the EDP should pave way for taking forward the excellent technologies developed by the institute to the farming community. He opined that seed production, bio controls and value addition of oilseeds were grey areas that could be tapped by the entrepreneurs.

Participants visited the bio control labs wherein the participants were able to have a real feel of the production aspects. The participants discussed on various issues on the process of production besides the marketability and the economic feasibility.

Around 45 participants from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Telangana with diverse backgrounds viz., farmers, NGO’s, input dealers, organic entrepreneurs, engineer turned agriculturists, and unemployed graduates participated in the programme.
