Root Crop carnival organized at ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate of Horticulture, Srinagar

ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar organized one- day carnival on “Root Crop Carnival” on 27th December, for the vegetable growers of Budgam, District, (J &K).

Dr D.B. Singh, Director ICAR-CITH, Srinagar briefed about various aspects of successful scientific cultivation of root crops to the farmers. He also urged farmers to adopt scientific intervention in root crop production to get maximum benefit.

Various nutra enriched hybrids/varieties of Carrot, Turnip and Radish were displayed in the carnival. The programme was organized to create awareness regarding huge potential and benefits of root crop in the District.

About 50 farmers participated in the Carnival.
