A one-day workshop on “Application of Biosensor Technology in Inland Fisheries” organised on 1st August 2018 at ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore. The workshop aimed at sensitizing the professionals, working ininland fisheries sector,on the potentials of biosensing technolgy in aquatic health monitoring.
Dr. B. K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI in his welcome address emphasised on the role of bio sensors in medical science and stressed on the likely use of bio sensors in the inland fisheries.
Prof. Vipul Bansal, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia briefed on the use of bio sensors in bio medical sciences.
Dr. Nabarun Bhattacharyya, Director, C-DAC, Kolkata described bio sensors as a new field of research and wide applicability in different sectors.
The workshop wasjointly organised by ICAR-CIFRI and Inalnd Fisheries Society of India (IFSI).
About 120 participants including scientist, research scholar and student attended the workshop.
