The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tapi, Gujarat in collaboration with the Reliance Foundation organized a Dial-Out Conference on “Bhumi Suposhan & Sanrakshan Abhiyan” today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Paresh Vyas, Prant Gram Vikas Pramukh, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, Gujarat stressed that the Soil Nutrition and Conservation Campaign aims at the spirit of welfare of India and the world. He emphasized that it also attaches the tribal farmers with nature and soil.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. C.K. Timbadia, Director of Extension Education, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat outlined the main aim of the awareness programme. He apprised the farmers about the importance of population of micro-organisms and earthworms in soil. He also urged for saving the nature by reducing the use of agro-chemicals.
Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Former Chairman, National Gau Sewa expressed his concerns about the reducing the productivity of soil and making it poisonous by the excess use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. By this way, the toxic elements in food become a big threat for the human health. He regarded cow-based farming as the only solution to the current problem.
The Conference registered a total participation by 150 farmers and farm women of 15 Villages of Tapi District, Gujarat.
