Four-month “Certificate Course on Soil & Water Conservation & Watershed Management” concluded at ICAR – Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Dehradun on 21st August 2018.
The training programme addressed the issues related to natural resource (soil, water and vegetation) management that mitigate the impact of climate change and helps to ensure livelihood, nutritional and environmental security in the country.
Dr. P.R. Ojasvi, Director, ICAR-IIS&WC, in his address, urged the trainees to work on the basis of data driven decision making at field level and precipitate the ideas/plans in to implementable actions which would enable them to work on their own.
The module of this training programme consisted of 47 % practical and 53% theory. The pre and post training evaluation had 67 % gain in the overall knowledge of the officer trainees which was a positive indicator of the training.
The programme was organized from 22nd April, 2018 to 21st August, 2018 at the Institute Hqrs., Dehradun. A total of 18 Officers representing five states (Punjab-1; Karnataka-1; Chattisgarh-5; Madhya Pradesh-5; Nagaland-6) participated in the programme.
